HIGHLIGHTS OF RECENT AND UPCOMING EVENTS
Dr. Ed Adams is 2018 President of Division 51 (Men and Masculinities) of the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Ed Adams, Founder of Men Mentoring Men (M3), continues to provide training and consultation to the peer group leaders within M3. See MenMentoringMen.org
In April of 2017, Dr. Adams traveled to Dubai to offer a workshop entitled, Developing Compassion and Self-Compassion in Men. In addition, efforts are underway to help bridge the gap of understanding and communication between mental health professionals working with men in the Middle East and the USA.
Dr. Ed Adams is chairperson of the Clinical Practice-Special Interest Group within the Division of Men and Masculinity (Division 51) of the American Psychological Association
In 2013, Dr. Adams was awarded the 2013 Practitioner of the Year Award by Division 51 of the American Psychological Association.
Men Mentoring Men held a conference entitled, Masculinity in a Changing World this past November 4th and 5th at the Princeton Theological Seminary Conference Center in the heart of Princeton, NJ.
Dr. Michael Kimmel was the keynote speaker on the evening of November 4, 2016 and four workshops were held on Saturday, November 5th on topics focused on relationships, gender empathy, happiness, and men and mindfulness. These experiential workshops were full of interesting and important information and all attendees found great value in the content and discussions.
Dr. Adams participated in two presentations at the American Psychological Association convention held in Denver, Colorado in August of 2016.
Dr. Ed Adams was awarded the 2013 Practitioner of the Year Award by Division 51 of the American Psychological Association. Division 51 is the Society for the Psychological Study of Men and Masculinity. The award was presented to Dr. Adams at the APA Convention held from July 31-August 4th, 2013 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
